Merve Altay was born in Turkey in 1994 and studied Industrial Design at university. Her education shaped an approach to design that goes beyond how something looks, focusing equally on how it functions, how it is made and how it relates to the space around it.Also she is the Founder and Director of Entama Design Ltd, a London-based multidisciplinary design studio delivering considered interior architecture, commercial spaces and brand-led environments across the UK.
After graduating, she moved to London, where her perspective gradually developed through exposure to the city’s mix of architecture, independent studios and visual culture. This experience influenced a more considered and understated design language, with an emphasis on clarity, proportion and longevity.
Combining her background in industrial design with interior architecture, Merve approaches branding, interiors and user experience as parts of the same conversation. From furniture and lighting to materials, graphics and smaller details, she believes every element should contribute to a coherent identity.
Rather than working within a fixed aesthetic, her process begins with understanding the character of each project. Her work is typically defined by thoughtful material choices, balanced proportions and spaces that feel natural rather than overly designed.
Based in London, Merve works across interior and multidisciplinary design, with a focus on creating spaces and identities that are functional, distinctive and built to last.
